The new site will act as a digital hub for Generation Next – a membership organisation for future leaders facilitated by East Midlands Chamber to develop and retain skills in the region. As well as providing young professionals in the East Midlands with the tools and support to grow, the website will feature guest blogs, event information, dedicated programmes, and educational workshops.
It will also provide opportunities for members to connect with other like-minded individuals and established business leaders.
Purpose Media has been involved with the project from the start, helping run sessions with other business leaders (in the appropriate age category of 18-35) to come up with the ‘Generation Next’ concept.
After a series of creative workshops, the team at PM established the name, brand, and narrative development. They then worked alongside the team at the Chamber to design and build the site throughout lockdown.
The website was launched at a virtual event last week and will grow to be a place for Generation Next members to access the resources and support needed to help kickstart their route into the wonderful world of business.

Katrina Starkie, Purpose Media Marketing Director, said; “I started my own business when I was 20, and the support of the East Midlands Chamber was amazing, but at that time there was nothing focused for younger people so it was hard to meet people in the same position as me.
Generation Next will be the bridge between people starting their first steps in business and those of us who want to support the next generation of leaders and give them what they need to flourish and thrive – it’s a great website, a great initiative, and great to be involved with.”
Lucy Robinson, Director of Resources at East Midlands Chamber, who has been leading the project said: “Having the website go live means we have a digital resource available for our members and the tools to start to build momentum.
Generation Next members are tech-savvy and we wanted to create something that was easy to navigate and can evolve as the project grows. Purpose Media delivered that with a tight budget and a global pandemic to contend with.
We’re really pleased with the results; they’ve been a great team to work with and we’ve already had fantastic feedback about the site.”
